The fuel injection system replaced the carburetor on almost all Vw Rabbit motors in 1977. It Improved
Many aspects of the Vw Rabbit engine. But for the many people out there who were used to working on
the carburetor their old beetles came with, this was something quite different.
But now 26 years later, when compared with the Multi-computer controlled cars of today. This CIS
system will seem almost quaint to any modern mechanic.
Honestly, The Fuel system on the Rabbit its one of the Best Ever made. Between 1977 and 1980 The
system didn't even use a computer. And later model really only use a really basic O2 sensor system to
control the air fuel mixture a little better.
I Am going to break this into a few parts To cover the system from two ways.
The first part will help you to get a dead car running again, and the second will be more about making
adjustments, and getting it to run right.
