Tools Of The Trade.
Here is some of the Equipment we at CCPI use on our Investigations.
It may seem Silly, But the most important tool you can carry on an overnight is a good flashlight. We use a bunch of different models. Some are krypton, some use LED bulbs, and some use IR LED bulbs.
Another Important tool that A lot of hunters forget is a good set or two of 2-way radios. We use ours so the teams can keep up with each other on larger investigations at outdoor locations and in large buildings.
Digital Sound Recorders. These inexpensive units have captured some great EVPS (Electronic Voice Phenomenon)
This is a wireless camera. We use several of these with special software and a laptop to record any motion in the viewing area. It works much like a security camera but the software only records moments that have any movement in them. That saves time when reviewing film.
Hi-8 Sony Camcorder with Super-Nightshot. And An IR (infra-red) spot light. These are a must for the intrepid ghost hunter. See right into the dark, and record it. We have 2 of these units. We also use these during the day as normal cameras for interviews and to film a location during the day to scope it out.
Thermometers Some believe that a spirit will cause a temperature fluctuation as they materialize. A 20 degree drop is not unusual. |
Camera Slave Flash Extender. This unit attach's to a regular or digital camera and extends the range of the on board flash many times. Great for detailed photos even in total darkness.
The VAN! Ok, Ok... So its not a brand new van like they have on TV, but, Its a decked out GMC Van. Great for our extended trips to far away haunts. The inside is loaded with a bed, kitchen, bathroom, and entertainment center. It carries twin deep cell batteries for running our TV so we can review evidence on site, and a desk for our laptop to review the digital audio and digital photos. On the outside its all stealth mode. Some customers don't want people to know they called a ghost hunter.
