Case 14:
What memories can bring
"A paranormal investigation in Cary,NC"
Case 14:
Closed
Our first case with the "new" CCPI van.

A E-mail (also our first Internet case) came in, with a client claiming activity at a small
house in Cary,NC

We jumped at the opportunity.
During an after work meeting with the owner, he described what he thought might be
paranormal activity in his 2 bedroom house.
He explained that many times he would leave a room, only to return to find a TV on, or
lights on, or things left in disarray. As investigators we hoped that is may be an active
haunting or a poltergeist. So one Friday evening, CCPI rolled out their "New" 1987 GMC
van, and loaded it up with all the gear needed to conduct a hunt. We arrived at the house
at about 7pm, and set up three IR cameras and two digital recorders. These covered the
two bedrooms, and the family room. Both investigators had digital recorders,
thermometers and digital cameras.
We spent a total of 8 hours at the home during that time, other then some cat related
antics, there was no activity felt.

After a review of all the film, photos, and digital audio, there was no evidence found.

I returned the following weekend to speak more with the owner, At this point, I was going
to ask for another night to see if we just hit a lull in activity, but it was during this second
meeting that I came up with another possible explanation.

As I went over or lack of findings the owner began to admit that part of him felt it may not
be paranormal at all. He explained that he was beginning to think it was a case of "CRS"
or age related forgetfulness.  We came up with a game plan to try and prove or disprove
that theory. For two weeks I had the client keep a note pad in every room, and make a
note when he went to bed if everything was off, or in its place. The idea behind this wasn't
so much for him to write it all down, but to make a good mental imprint of what was going
on.

After the two weeks were up, the client called, and seemed convinced it was just a case of
forgetting to shut off the TV before bed, or leaving the lights on in the kitchen and so on.

CCPI was glad to have helped settle this mystery for the Cary homeowner, and consider
the case closed.
